Sarah Merrill, LCSW

Sarah Merrill, LCSW

Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides therapy and supervision in our office. Her experience providing individual, family and group therapy in the home, school and outpatient settings has given her tremendous skills and empathy for those who have struggled with anxiety, depression, substance abuse and school-based conflicts. She has a particular passion for helping children and adolescents work through trauma using creative modalities to discover coping skills that enhance emotional stability.

Her experience navigating the IEP/504 process in school systems has taught her the value of creating a collaborative team to support the student facing emotional/behavioral challenges in school and home. Sarah believes in using a strengths-based approach, incorporating aspects of various evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma-informed Care (TIC). Sarah strives to create a safe, positive and nurturing atmosphere where her clients are supported in their efforts to change and grow. Sarah also incorporates mindfulness skills and is able to help her clients find ways to recognize their strengths and areas of "growth potential" in order to become more self-reliant and resilient.

Sarah provides telehealth/virtual services.
