After being awarded a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Galindo completed an internship at an American Psychological Association accredited program at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Her clinical practice is based heavily on psychodynamic theory, and she completed a fellowship at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center. However, Dr. Galindo believes a well-balanced clinical practice benefits from utilizing many approaches, and she completed a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Intensive training, which allowed her to run DBT skills groups and individual DBT therapy with adults in the duration of her internship year.
Dr. Galindo is a multilingual clinician who has provided therapy in Spanish, English, and French. Her clinical experience began in 2006, and she has worked in a myriad of settings including psychiatric hospitals, community mental health centers, inpatient addiction treatment facilities, university counseling centers, and private practice. During her clinical training, she has had the opportunity of completing a variety of psychological evaluations on children, adults, and older adult populations in many varied settings (from private practice to forensic settings). She has provided individual, group, and couples therapy. Dr. Galindo specializes in treating adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and other emotional disturbances. She is passionate about her clinical work, empathic, and builds a strong working relationship with the individuals she treats in therapy. As a registered psychological associate, she works under the supervision of Dr. Kirstin Filizetti (PSY25099) as she pursues licensure in the State of California.
