Madison Vermazen, M.A.

madison Madison Vermazen, M.A. is a Registered Psychological Associate (PSB94026799) working under the supervision of Kirstin Filizetti, Ph.D. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. Madison continues her graduate education with Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, earning a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Family and Children.

She has experience working with children and adolescents in residential and intensive outpatient settings. In these settings, she provided group and individual therapy for those experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and behavioral issues. She also has experience providing treatment for individuals with early neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism and ADHD, and co-occurring depression, anxiety, and trauma. Madison understands therapy can be daunting and aims to bring her genuine and authentic self into the therapy room to create a safe and comfortable space for her clients. She enjoys collaborating with clients to set therapy goals that reflect their values and offering evidence-based skills and activities to work towards a meaningful life for each client.

Madison has worked with a diverse population with various cultural, racial, and gender identities. She emphasizes the practice of cultural humility and provides tailored treatment regarding each individual's cultural values, experiences, gender, and sexuality. With each individual's unique background in mind, Madison's treatment approach is largely rooted in cognitive behavioral theories. She is experienced in utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions.

In addition, she has experience completing psychological and psychoeducational evaluations and assessments for children and adolescents. Madison has worked with many collaborative treatment teams, including the school system, to assist in the access to support for clients with various individualized needs, including ADHD testing, diagnostic clarification, treatment intervention/support, and academic accommodations.
